Behavior training for your kitten

Start as you mean to go on. Instilling desired behaviour traits in a kitten will usually result in a sociable and well- behaved cat, bearing in mind the praise, reward and punishment ideals described in previous pages. For example, if you let your kitten sleep on your bed, then he will naturally expect to do so as an adult. So think ahead — behaviour you may find acceptable in a kitten may not be quite as desirable in an adult cat yet the cat will not understand why you have changed your response. A kitten will soon learn that if they are allowed to do something some times, but not others, that you are not to be trusted with your responses.... so may as well keep trying to swipe that piece of meet of the kitchen table - maybe next time you will praise them for doing so.
